On Tuesday Room 4 and 7 went to Nick’s farm. We had a turn each at electric fishing and flax planting. Room 7 went to electric fishing and Room 4 went planting flaxes first. I was with Danni, Archie, and Robin at tree the planting. We weren't allowed to face the creek because we might fall in it and that would be a disaster. I loved the tree planting so much. Danni loved getting her hands dirty. I liked getting my hands a little bit dirty. I loved the the planting it was fun.

Then we went to electric fishing. First he showed us a giant eel in a bucket.  Some people touched it but I didn't because it was slimy. He caught it in a net that he set overnight. He also showed us a brown trout and a lamprey eel. He also showed electric fishing. It was so fun.I loved all of it so much.

House on Fire

A house got put on fire on purpose. Flames were coming out of the roof and windows. Smoke was created and firemen were there. It was a white house. The fire got bigger and bigger. The roof was gone and after a while, a bit of the wall fell down. The flames were eating the home.

I am already sad.

It was nearly gone. A lot of walls had fallen down. We could only see smoke, flames, the chimney and the frame. A lot of people were there. The frame was black.

Later that day they bulldozed the chimney and then they picked up the metal and the bricks.

Waitahuna swimming carnival

Waitahuna  swimming carnival. We went to Waitahuna pool because we had to go to Waitahuna swimming Carnival. We went to the pool. The pool was cold, it was as cold as snow, but when you stayed in it longer it got warmer. It was not as cold as the river. Every time I got last in the race. There was a noodle race, where we got to choose what we wanted to do with the noddle. I rode mine like a horse. It was lots of fun. We did an egg and spoon race and we did backstroke. My favourite race was the noodle race. We didn’t get hot chocolate at the end this year, like we did last time. My Mum was there to watch the races.

I am learning to do 1-2-3-breathe because I can't breathe when I am doing streamline. I know how to back stroke. I am in Mrs Crawford's group. She is a good teacher.
